General documents needed for all India e-visa type
The first and most important eligibility criteria for all e-visa type is making sure that your country is one of the 170 countries eligible for India e-visa. Since you will not be required to physically present yourself for biometric registration before obtaining a visa, the online option of submitting the needed documents cannot be fraught with any form of mistakes. Photo Requirement for Indian eVisa
- For your visa application you need to upload a digital photograph taken using a digital camera. If quality is assured, a phone camera or any other mobile device can be used to take it.
- The passport photograph should be in PDF, JPG or PNG format.
- The size should not be more than 10MB and not less than 1MB in size.
- The dimension should be exactly 2in x 2in or 51mm x 51 mm and the pixels should be between 350 x 350 pixels and 1000 x 1000 pixels.
- The background color should be plain white background or any other solid-color designs are acceptable.
- Photos must be recent. At most 6 months old.
- The picture should show some part of the chest and the head should be around 60-70% of the total passport size.

- Your valid international passport (with at least 2 empty pages left and 6 months validity by the time you arrive in India).
- You must upload a passport copy to process the visa application for India.
- The passport copy should be in PDF, JPG or PNG format.

Documents needed to apply for an Indian E-tourist visa
Before applying India e tourist visa, make sure you have these following documents are handy:
- Passport photograph (colored passport with white background, less than 3MB in size, must be in either JPG, PDF or PNG format).
- Scanned copy of your passport’s information page.
- You still have at least two blank pages left.
- You're required to buy a round trip ticket or provide adequate proof of fund showing that you can afford a return ticket after landing in India.
Documents needed to apply for an Indian E-business visa
While applying for this category of Indian e business visa, you are required to provide the following documents for ease of application:
- Scanned copy of your passport’s information page.
- An introduction or appointment letter showing the purpose of your travel and a business card or visiting card could be part of the visa requirement in some other instances.
- For a traveler invited to deliver lectures, a letter of invitation issued by the host, a copy of the courses’ synopsis and a copy of the sanction order issued by the coordinating institute will be required.

If you are attending a conference, seminar or workshop in India please note the following. Aside from the general documents required for all e-visa applicants, you will need these other documents:
- The conference ID number.
- Places to be visited.
- Duration of the conference.
- The venue of the conference.
- Details of the organizer of the conference.
- Purpose of visit.
- List of countries you have visited in the last 10 years.
- Name, phone number and address of a reference in India.
- Name, address and phone number of a reference in Home country.
- An invitation letter from the conference organizer.
- Clearance from the Indian external affairs ministry (MEA political clearance).
- Clearance from the home affairs ministry (MHA event clearance).
Medical/health documents

Authorized documents
- After the application is confirmed and Indian e visa has been granted, you are required to print the electronic travel authorization (ETA) sent to your email. This is an essential document for your India trip.
