It is mandatory to meet the specifications for the photo provided by the government, only then it will be processed. To make this process easy there are some detailed guidelines which can be helpful. Please go through the guidelines carefully to have a better understanding about the regulations:
- The photo should have only white background. No designs or patterns allowed in the photo. It should be plain and white.
- Face should be in the middle of the photo looking straight at the camera. It should be fully visible.
- The size must match the specifications provided, 30mm x 40mm or 3cm x 4cm.
- The photo must have been taken in the past 6 months. Old photos are not accepted.
- No headgear allowed.
- If you are wearing glasses then make sure that there are no glares in it. Retake the photo until there is no glare in the photo.
- You need two photographs along with the application while submitting it for processing.
Guidelines and requirements for photos of babies and infants for Indian Passport/Visa
If you are planning to take your children along with you then they must have their own individual documents and must have their photo completed. It is a little bit tricky to take a photo of babies and infants which can be a guideline that will be helpful during the photoshoot. Please go through this carefully in order to take a photo that matches the specifications:
- The photo should have only white background. No designs or patterns allowed in the photo. It should be plain and white.
- Baby’s eyes should be open and clearly visible in the photo.
- Background needs to be white. So please the background with a white sheet or a white cloth to ensure it.
- If the baby is too small to sit on its own then you can put it on a car seat for the photograph. Please remember to cover the car seat with a white sheet or shite cloth so that the background is white.
